Dear Phoenix Hispanic Network Members:
It is my pleasure to serve as your president. The Phoenix Hispanic Network is dedicated to developing diverse leadership by offering an array of services to develop, encourage, and support you in this journey. The City of Phoenix is an excellent place to work. As we think about the future of our organization, we can only assume there will be many promotional opportunities across all levels. As those opportunities become available, we have the responsibility to be ready to assume new roles and responsibilities. The very essence of professional development is to have a clear vision and a plan for action. Our education and job experiences play a major factor in preparing ourselves for these promotional opportunities. That is why I want you to benefit from the services our organization offers. I invite you to experience it! I believe that it is our collective responsibility in molding the future of our organization. We have many professional development goals that I hope you take part of. These goals include: Goal 1: Expand our Mentoring Program
Our goal is to increase the participation of mentors and mentees by 25% during this fiscal year. The Mentoring Program is an excellent opportunity to expand our skills, learn about other departments, build networks and expand our opportunities. Goal 2: Improve Communication to our Members
During this fiscal year, we plan to improve our communication to our members by developing a Communications Committee. This committee will be responsible for developing a communication and outreach plan for the organization. Goal 3: Provide Quality Speakers at PHN Luncheons/Events
Our goal is to provide excellent speakers and topics of great interest to our members. For feedback and suggestions please contact Lisa Valdivia at 602-261-8780. Goal 4: Develop a User Friendly and Informative Website
Our goal is to update our website and include the following: 1) Current information on the organization; 2) Information about internal resources on professional development; 3) External resources to assist in professional development; and 4) Calendar of events. Goal 5: Publish a Quarterly Newsletter
Our goal is to publish a quarterly newsletter that includes topics of interest to our members, information on upcoming events, professional development news, etc. I thank you for your support!
